What is Seesaw?

Seesaw is a platform for student engagement. Teachers can empower students to create, reflect, share, and collaborate. Students “show what they know” using photos, videos, drawings, text, PDFs, and links. It’s simple to get student work in one place and share with families, and nothing is shared without teacher approval.

How does Seesaw work?

Seesaw is a platform for student engagement that inspires students of all ages to do their best, and saves teachers time!

Students use creative tools to take pictures, draw, record videos and more to capture learning in a portfolio.

Teachers find or create activities to share with students.

Families only see their child's work and leave comments and encouragement. Learn more about what families see here.

Seesaw is used by different teachers in so many different ways, and the settings enable users to use Seesaw to achieve one of these goals, or a mix of all three:-

  • Feedback and Reflection
  • Assignments and Assessment
  • Family Engagement

How do I get Seesaw for my child?

Your child will be given information from their teacher at school to bring home to you, with all the details that you need to log in. If you have any questions at any time about how the school is using Seesaw, or what your child is doing with it, you can ask the teachers at any time.

Blended Learning

During lockdown, Seesaw came into its own, enabling parents and carers to work alongside their children on assignments set by teachers. Blended learning is a new approach to teaching children bringing together many new ways of learning from home and in school, enabling staff, children and parents/carers alike the opportunity to maintain seamless learning, regardless of wether the child is in school, or has had to stay at home due to Covid-19 restrictions.
