Borderbrook School PTA is an active part of the school, raising funds to support the children with their education. The PTA have most recently helped to purchase a CleverTouch screen for the Foundation Classroom, donating £1500 towards the cost. The children are finding this equipment so beneficial in their classes, using it for their phonics lessons, writing and spelling, and for registration. It is now an integral and essential part of their classroom lessons.
The PTA meets regularly to plan and discuss events. Funds raised subsidise transport costs and provide 'extras' to enrich the curriculum. It is not essential to come along to the meetings, our parents and community can help in many other ways too.
All parents are automatically members and we welcome any members of the community who are keen to support their local school.
Unfortunately the pandemic has prevented the PTA from meeting or running many of our fundraising events
these past months. We very much hope that in the near future, we will be able to get going again with earnest,
as the social events are much missed by our children, parents and staff alike.
Clothing Recycling. We have a collection bin located alongside the school fence, which all of our community is welcome to fill with their old clothing, shoes, handbags and belts. This provides an ongoing source of income for the school.
Summer BBQ and Fair. Despite the changeable weather, the children ran very successful stalls, there was a sell out BBQ, and we drew the Grand Hamper prizes. Overall, the event raised an incredible £619.
Tallarn Greens Big Day Out. This is a community event that the school had a huge marquee bursting with games to play, things to buy, and prizes to be won. This is a great opportunity to raise our awareness within the community, and raised the school a fantastic £655.75.
